January 18, 2006 - I am pleased by the prompt reply I received from IBC this morning.  Here is there response, along with my reply.  (obviously I have left the respondent's name anonymous.)

"Dear Jonathan Frishman

Thank you for contacting us here at Interstate Bakeries Corporation about our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pudding pies.  We introduced these pies as a marketing promotion in conjunctions with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies and television shows during the early 1990's.  There were no plans to market these pies on a permanent basis after the promotion period expired.

While we do appreciate your interest in this product, we do not plan to bring this product back to the marketplace.

Again, thank you for your interest in our company.

Clearly we can note from this response a measure of knowledge on the subject of TMNT Pies, curious.  So here was my response to the representative's attention.

"I appreciate the timely reply with regard to my correspondence through your company's website.  It is nice to hear from you.

While it is certainly part of the nostalgia of my following to re-create this product, I cannot stress enough the idea of a vanilla flavored pudding pie.  I am willing to enlist my help with regards to focus groups, and market research if it is necessary.  My goal in this petition is to create a new flavor, Vanilla Pudding, that is in mimicry of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pie.  I cannot stress enough my wish that this idea be taken into consideration.

While I understand that you cannot make a product for a small group of some 1,300 signees, it is my theory that this new Vanilla Pudding flavor could catch on with your current consumer demographic, and generate more sales henceforth.

I hope that I can be of any assistance in this regard, and I do not mean to waste yours or your co-workers time.

look forward to hearing from you,

Respectfully submitted,

Jonathan Frishman"

Is this encouraging?  Not really, but it is something, and that is always a start.  A response is better than none, so continue to sign, and help me press for this flavor's return.

January 14, 2006 - My latest submission on the Hostess website under the Fun Snack Cake Story inquiry list.  I hope it is read by someone with a willing heart...

"This is not about Hostess Snack Cakes. No this is a story of much greater purpose, and devotion. Yes, it is as you guessed, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pie. Oh how I crave that Vanilla Pudding Power, coated with a thick green icing to form the greatest fried pie, if not the greatest food ever known to man. There is no debate, no question, this is my addiction, my withdrawal, my obsession. For these last near 15 years, I and many others have threatened Seppuku because of our loss, and inability to taste bliss once again. Many attempts have been made to recreate this glorious treat on a small scale, but they have all come to naught. It is time we made this on a big scale. Yes, for the last two years I have been petitioning to remake the Ninja Turtle Pie, or at least the Vanilla Pudding Pie flavor, and so far my attempts have been unheard. I urge you, reader, to make your move. Submit this idea to market research. It can work, and is in the very least worth a try. If you do, we will all be hoping, and cheering for you. Godspeed, you green iced soldier!

I would also like to thank Mike for bolstering my resolve via email, (wasn't that your name?) it is not often I find one as motivated as myself fighting this noble crusade.  I thank you, and hopefully you'll write me again with that email, as I forgot your address.  XD

On a side note, I had a dream last night that I found two frozen turtle pies on eBay.  Well, it got me out of bed this morning at least.  Oh well...

June 10, 2005 - I've contacted Matt of X-Entertainment in an effort to solidify a network for bringing a vanilla pie into our realities, as this is really something I cannot do alone.  It is nice to see others as interested in this as me...

In the meantime, I'm going to try and install some news software to make this updating process a little easier.  Hope tripod can handle it...

You like my radioactive looking rendition of a turtle pie?  I used a picture I took of a cherry pie and came up with this... somehow.  I was airbrushing out the sides, and then I screwed up, to when I tried to undo, it took away all the other good sides I'd done and wouldn't redo, so I gave up... Anyway, if you can show me better, email me!

Welcome to the "Bring Back The Ninja Turtle Pies" Official Website. Please note that this site is currently under construction, and will be updated shortly.  In the meantime, feel free to click the link above, and take advantage of the petition that has been under way for over a year now.  For details of the purpose of that petition, please see the mission part of the site.

To this point I have only begun to make headway, as the petition was printed and sent along with a recent letter to the Quality Assurance Manager for Interstate Brands Corporation which can be viewed here soon.

On another side-note, I'll continue to host the site through tripod until a better place can be found, so worry not on that account.

Send any further comments to me at the contact section of this site.

Thanks for visiting, and hopefully you'll have a nice green pie crammed in your mouth before you know it!
